Check with Paul. He seems to be the king of setup pictures and freely shares them with everyone by posting them on his website.

He's also built a fair number of boats.

Hello Louis,

I use 9v batteries to power my electronics and have never had a problem. That being said I was at a hobby auction and picked up some tiny little 300Mah Nimh batteries to put together some 5 cell receiver packs to try out. They were a buck a piece and I couldn't pass them up.

Paul.

Hey Paul
Sounds like a deal on those batteries.
I found something interesting the other day while wandering around Wal-Mart. I found Ni-MH 9 volt batteries well they are actually 7.2. BUT.... they are recharable of course:) I can't remeber what mah they were but I think it was about 1000.
They also seemed a little lighter than the alkaline 9 volts.
I think I'm going to try some of them,I'll let everyone know how it turns out.

Chris,

9V rechargeables are probably 50-100 mAH.

Paul-

If those batteries are AP's, be careful with them. Bought some AP 150 mah NiMh cells and apparently damaged them by charging at 0.1 amps. They were meant to be charged at no more than 15 ma. with a max discharge rate of 150 ma.. The maximum discharge capacity I have been able to get out of these cells is about 35 to 40 mah. Good luck.
