HELP HELP HELP

Hi guys,

I know that alot of you, have played around with the Graupner systems in the past..

But have you had problems with the boat taking in LOADS og water????

I pulled out around 60cc of water after 10 minutes of fun..

The boat was REALLY fast, setup with Ultra1800/5 and 24cells... But it ended with me having to swim in water that was sh.. cold (5degress celsius)....

Where should I look? I taped the hatch really good, but because of the stripes in the top of the model its really hard getting it perfect.

PLEASE HELP

The boat is looking bad because I hvae had to renovate it after a crash.... It has a layer of Glassfiber inside..

My first guess would be the holes in the transom, if you've left any of those open. Second guess would be that water is making it's way in through the joint between the deck and hull.
Third guess would be that water is working it's way up the flex cable. I'd think this would only be a problem if you're running in reverse, but again, I'm pretty new to this stuff.

All the holes on the pics have of course been closed of before going to the lake....

Just to keep it straight..

Set it in the bath tub and push it down until the side seams are under and see if it is taking on water anywhere obvious...stuffing tube? Hull Cracks? Push rod holes?

I had one that sucked water up as it ran and it was the cable acting as a pump. I put some silicone of the cable and stuffing tube just to where it cotacts the cable...but still get a bit.

I noticed that my boats with Octura prop stubs do not do this.

Hi Mathieu,

As soon as I have my Camera back, (my Dad and I share it) I will get some action pics of the boat.

My hopes are that I can get it running around +65kmh, but I guess it will need lots of work to go there.

But this is the setup:

Ultra 1800/5 (now water cooled, both brushes and the can of the motor)

24cells Sanyo 2000 (cheap ones though, not pushed or matched)

The first trial was done with 54mm Graupner Carbon Prop, next step will be 57mm ?, I have bought most of the program from graupner to test, so I guess I have props from 29mm - 70mm for test's (not only for this boat of course).

I have two ESC's I can use for this boat. Both from
Hydro & Marine (80 and 90Amp versions).

The hardware is also from Mr. Oliver Siess (Mr. Hydro & Marine).

Hydro marine. (http://www.hydromarine.de)

Well I hope this was the kind of info you where looking for?

Hi,

Well I managed to find the source of the leaks, I seem like the water was getting in through the flex drive... I gave the flex alot of silicon grease, and also waterproofed the stuffintube where its joined to the drivestrut (used silicon again, but the type that hardens).

In the first run I could only find around 2cc's of water in the copling house in front of the motor.. But It was looking like the grease some how got flushed out of the drive as the day went along..

So all that left to do now is find a solution for keeping the water out of the flex drive.

But all in all, it was a great succes. The boat was very fast, well the fastest I have in my fleet anyway.. But my Ultra 1800/5 with 24cells really kicks. I used a 54mm Graupner Carbon on the first runs and then went to a 57mm on the last runs (motor still cold)....

But I will post some action pics during the week.
