Hi,
I have 2 9.6v graupner 700bb mtrs. and i really like em! Been doin some research and found they make a speed 820bb race. It's a 20volt 24,00rpm mtr. Anybody use one? I can't find any prices here in the u.s. only in europe. Seems to be a hefty mtr. that would last a long time.
Thanks,
Larry

No Gun, that is one of the Ultra's. The 820 looks a lot like a 700 can motor but bigger. I think those Ultra's are really Plett's in disguise.

See the pic here at the bottom of Andrew's motor page:

Andrew dosen't have a pic of the Graupner 820 he is selling the 800BBX a more robust powerhouse. The graupner 820 is a lighter duty motor, smaller can,arm & comm than the 800BBX.

Ken,

Did you ever get your hands on an 820? I noticed on Andrew's site that if you click on the motor specs link that the 800bbx is not listed but 820 and a 900bb is. What is a 900BB? Is that the BBX.

Yes I tested a Graupner 820 in my 32" Scorpian D/D it survived 2 runs before it went up in smoke. No comparison in power to the 800BBX.

Correct the 800BBX specs are not listed, the Graupner 820's & 900's are.(don't ask me why)From what i've herd the Graupner 900BB is good for larger scale boats. Its not a race motor.

I wonder if those Mabuchi 1000's that keep showing up on ebay are the same as the 900.

John H.has a couple m1000's they look the same as SS1's except bushings. He's going to try them in P Offshore.

Now I remeber him mentioning that. Cool. He can run the Key against a couple of H2O kittens. Yours with 8.4 and mine with a 9.6 and then your El V with an SS1. Should make for great racing.

As I had pointed out some time ago the supposed '1000' motors are actually RS-755-WO motors and have bushings. They are also too short to pass LSH rules.

If you are interested in playing with them I have 2 of them here and they are for sale at $17.50 each.

Mike,

We had speculated on our own that they may share some characteristics with the SS1 just based on apearance alone. They did appear to have larger vent holes. I know it's silly. Those vent holes don't mean squat. We'll probably have all the popular versions of the 700 on the pond next weekend. Some 800bbx's too. If those "1000" motors turn out to be something other than just a bushed 700 we'll let ya know. We'll beet the snot out of em either way.

I think that same guy is listing a different motor and calling it a Mabuchi 1000. Only this one is gigantic. Like the size of a beer can. I thought maybe that was the same motor Graupner calls a 900.

I bought these two big motors from a surplus store, andrewg seemed to think they were close to a johnson 970, well opened one up, put in ball bearing, epoxied it back up, well it ran ok, but it really needed 24 cells, i'll try to dig up that site lotsa cool brushed motors cheap, cheers eddie

Hey Eddieh, did you find that site yet? I have tons of sites for surplus but none have a very good selection of motors (useful for RC applications that is).

Thanks,

Eric
