Has anybody used one of these for boats? Was wondering if it would work in N class hydro....any thoughts?

I have never used them, but since the current Model Electronics motors are designed for 10 cells I doubt that they would work well on only 6 cells. I could find no specs for the Turbo-10 motors so I cannot make an educated estimate as to its 6-cell performance.
In the past I vaguely remember some MEC motors for fewer than 10 cell uses, but their website does not list them.

The MEC motors are wound for extremely high rpm, then geared down 6:1 for model aircraft use. I may have the motor specs at home in ElectriCalc.
I'm way too new at FE boats to make a pronouncement on how they might/might not work in a boat. They are high rpm, low torque motors that work well in planes when using a gearbox. I have flown several of them in my 10 cell airplanes. I don't know of anyone using them direct-drive. I talked with them about a direct-drive ducted fan application and they didn't even recommend the Turbo 10+ for that.
They seem to be well made, durable motors. I never had a problem with one. In my experience they were pretty electrically noisy and required good suppression caps.

I used to run the Turbo10+ motors on 8 cells with the timing cranked up to the max (about 40 degrees). I ran them in my O Sport hydros for years. Some motors lasted that long! If you call them up, ask Pete about the armature I sent him. It's hanging on his wall.
Excellent motors, they really took the abuse I poured on them, and they kept on ticking.
Blew plenty of Schottkys on them too!
