How many degrees of timing do i need on a 12 turn double d4 for racing in N2. Also what prop should i use.

I would have to say, "start" around 13 - 15 deg. or so.. and go from there, based on how it runs with your setup.. what size prop are you using?

Buy a conversation kit for the p94 and put it on the d4 and use about 20 degrees with a 432 octura prop, use the 4383ep brushes for the p94 on the d4.

Each of the "timing marks" on the D4 end bell represent about 12 degrees. If you are really pushing that 12-turn hard, I'd start with two marks ( 24 degrees ) of advance ( make sure it is advanced, not retarded ) and after racing a heat pull a brush and check the comm. If there is any darkening on the trailing edge of the comm plates, then add about 1/3rd of a mark advance and try again. For maximum power the goal is to keep advancing until you almost eliminate that slight burning or darkening on the trailing edge of the plates. This will always be an average setting since your motor pulls a wide range of amps during an oval race - high draw in the turns and lower on the straights. Still, you can get pretty close by sneaking up on the timing. This is for maximum power for racing - for sport use you'll need less timing. I used three and a half marks on the 10-turn D4 in my Pistolero N2 Mono.
Depending on the hull an x438 may be a good prop for a mono; you may find an x435 or y535 may be easier on the motor yet faster - or not. Remember that a different prop loads the motor differently, so the 'optimum' timing advance may change when you change props. Too, use heavy springs to reduce the incidence of arcing....arcing damages the brushes, comm and causes extra radio interference.
