Hi,
Do i need to adjust the timming of an 480BB race, or the factory setting is the best.
I will use it on the Hydromite on 7 cells with k29 prop.
Thanks

I wouldn't actually have recommended that you use the BB version of the 480 motor. It it a hotter wind that the 480 Race and needs smaller props for direct drive use. With 7 cells and a 29mm prop, however, it should be a good place to start. Make sure that the motor does not get too hot after a minute of two running. I would start with the factory timing and watch the trailing edge of each commutator segment for evidence of excessive burning (black). If this is the case after several runs, I would advance the timing a little (maybe 1/8") until this burning (actually arcing as brush contact is broken) stops of decreases significantly. If excessive motor heat is evident, I would consider a smaller prop or at least cutting down the 29mm one and possibly add motor (brush) cooling.
