ok well today was a nice enough day to take my boat out, so i did, had all 4 battery packs charged and ready to go, 2, 2000mah and 2, 1800 mah, well, i had had the boat out earlier in the year just to get all the things working right and well my problem is that i cant get that thing to balence out right (not enough room) well , the left side where the battery pack isis always down in the water so low that the seam for the hull and the deck are about 1/2 inch in the water!!! well i have everything on the other side of the boat, Esc, reciver, servo, and i cant seem to get it to sit right! do i have to put in a battery pack for the reciver to get it to balence???? and it always has atendency to turn in that direction! more drag??? well any help would be great!

The Avenger was designed to have a motor battery, a reveiver battery, and 2(two) servos. It should probably balance properly when so equipped. What you have done is ok, and it should lean to the side like you said. However, when the boat is moving, it should straighten up.

BTW, There are no stupid question when you notice a problem that needs to be cleared up.

Have you tried forming your battery pack into a saddle pack, putting the same number of cells on each side of the hull?

I think the best you could do that way would be to use 4 in the usual place, and two up the middle.

NO ROOM!!!!, i could take out that molded thing in the middle and find a new way to mount the servo then i could just run the pack straight down the middle! look at the pics

Why not just run it the way it is? It evens out when you hit the throttle.I ran it like that and it worked fine.:)

Avenger,

While I don't own an Avenger, I can tell you that this is how most European Eco hulls are configured - the cells down the port side, radio on the other. This is required to counteract the torque of the propeller, which will try and roll the boat to starboard.

It really doesn't matter how they sit in the water at standstill - the hulls I have with free-flooding self righting chambers looks as if they are about to sink when they are not moving.

If the boat sits perfectly upright in a straight line at full speed, then everything is okay - if you adjust the left-right balance it won't be upright at full speed and will therefore probably be slower.

If the boat is pulling to one side, then adjust the trim on the rudder. If it is veering violently to one side, it is likely something is wrong, such as the propshaft or rudder alignment.

regards,
dan.

The batteries on the side of the boat is one of the features that makes it self righting. If you center the weight the boat will probably not self right. It does level out as soon as you come up to speed.

allright im going out today and ill pay cloer attention to it, change it around see how it sits compared to its preformance!
