Are Speed 900's any good? and for what type of boat/cell count?

Well I can't say I've used a 900.. But I think the Graupner 820 is pretty close. I like the motor. I typically run it on 18 and 24 cells. I think 24 is the max for the 820. I run this motor in a 40 inch
mono deep V . as seen on my website. (Mercury Racing). If I was not using the Z-Drive 800 on it. the boat would go much faster. and I could probably use a much biger prop too. I say you get
good bang for your buck out of them.

I won't bet a paycheck on it, but I believe the 900 is a low-rev motor designed for low speed, high torque applications, such as tug boats and the like...
