As I'm sure many of you had noticed in the new Boat Modeler, Pro Boat is releasing the Mrs. Bud in 1/8th scale with the Zenoah 23cc engine. I think this thing would be a kick in the pants, though I'd assume that it's really got to be a bit bigger than 1/8th scale. Wouldn't the interior be a little tight for large scale gas motors? I think I read it's either 44" or 46" long. Is that 1/8th scale? $1099 sound like a pretty good deal considering it comes with the new XR3i radio and all the trimmings.
The thing looks beautiful from the pics, just as scale as the smaller nitro boat. The only thing that I'm not fond of, though it's functional, is the kill switch mounted on the cowl over the cockpit. The pipe also hangs out a bit more, but there's probably nothing that could be done about that.

A lot of money for a gas boat that does "up to" 35 MPH. It wouldn't be competitive in racing. Pro Boat has had problems with their drivelines in the Shockwave boat and might show up on this one also.

The most recent hulls are 29 ft 8 inches long so 44.25 inches long would be 1/8th scale.

Sounds like they got the scale pretty close. Yeah, I was a little disappointed in the top speed, but I've heard that they come with a very mild prop. Not sure how much you'd gain by swapping it out.
I'm not looking for a race boat, just something to play around with that gets decent run time and looks good. This thing fits the bill.
