Heya, Gundam!!!! :)
Yep, we're apt' bound, too.... We're "perfect neighboors" all year long, only a couple times a year, we CRANK IT UP!!!! :)
Me, my tastes are more heavy / deep, but the wife's big on '80's, so we do that, too.... I once DJ'd at a party for a friend years ago, in leiu of another friend that DJ'd regularly, he couldn't believed my "transitions", how I'd jump from one song to another, and yet, still maintain some drive / cohesion in the method.... :) He was impressed, though, not what he expected. I just like to keep a certain vibe goin'.... :) The Chickies were a' groovin, so that's all that mattered then... (college days... hahahahahaha)
We jammed out as late as we could, about 2:00a, called it quits at that point.... :) Our neighboors are used to my occasional bouts of loud music, heck, I put up with their blocking my parking space all year long!!!! hahahahaha
Laters,
Paul

You know your getting old when you don't know half the bands being mentioned!
I have been pulling out all my old Dead tapes, I hadn't listened to them in years. Hmmm, mid-life crises??? ;) I always have Floyd handy, with Roger Waters of course! OK, how about the Moody Blues??? That is still one of my perennial favorites, there still great live too, even if they do need walkers to get to the stage! :D

Linda is the real Zep head in the family, they are one of my favorites as well, but Linda can recite every lyric of every song Zeppelin ever did! Yup the Moody Blues, sweet is good way to describe them, their harmonies are some of the best.

The radio station I go to does a variety of styles.
Big band is one of the more popular formats. The big three are big band, country, and bluegrass. I was down there for the big band program last Saturday night (8-11 it plays). The two women that run that show are a real hoot.
I'm going down there tomorrow morning, Dan. Shall I stick a big band in the playlist for you? I can probably swing it - the show is called Sunrise Surprise. Some of the surprises in the past have been so awful they got cut off before they ended!
When will you be listening? It's 6-9AM my time - you should still be up for the start of the show, right ;)

Ha, hopefully neither, Andy! 3:00am is to late unless I just can't sleep, like last night! 6:00am is a little more doable, but usually only a Grand Prix or a FE race gets me up that early on a weekend. What did you think of my idea in the email for recording it?

Ha ha! Yeah, they say that Madonna keeps reinventing herself, if you showed someone a picture of David Johanson in the Doll's days and one from the Buster Poindexter days, you would be hard pressed to know it was the same guy, I really like him, in both iterations, he is a unique performer.
Are you a Dead Head, Eddie? Or did you just go to see the freak show! ;) I have about 150 or so Dead shows under my belt, if you think you had seen it all, just go see a dead show!

It was good. One of the guys at work as streaming-to-HD-capture software. We'll do that next time. I can always do a recording in the studio to cassette.
I can also take along my laptop and record to the HD.

Andy...With all the stuff you have going on you still have time to dj at a radio station? Cool. Years ago I did a rock/oldies show on friday nights at KMXT in Kodiak, AK. I also helped other people with their shows and learned much about bluegrass/big band/reggae/classisal and so much more.
Now I'm a personal dj for my kids. We listen to everything as long as the lyrics aren't to bad.
My daughter had a sleep over a few weeks ago. It brought a tear to my eye when she insisted on putting the Ramones in the cd player, Ignoring the N'sink cd she got from a friend.
Eddeh...The DEAD KENNEDYS? Out of all the music I have, Their the only group I have all the albums they made. (Well cd's.)
Can't beat "Holiday in Cambodia!"
For me, working on raceboats is funner when I listen to various
typs of music. A pint of GUINNES dosen't hurt either.;)

Brian,
I have to keep my sanity somehow. It is something totally unrelated to everything else I do, so for me it's tremendously relaxing.
Sometimes customers complain but all work and no play...

Paul,
If you like Queensryche check out www.shadowgallery.com and the bio for Carl. He was always talking about them, and Freddie Mercury. We used to work together.
It's a bit old - kid #2 is just about here. I'm sure the "webmistress" (Carl's wife) will make sure the page is updated with the little monster arrives.
If you have trouble finding one of their CD's at a store let me know. It's not my kind of music at all but you get to know all kinds of folks in this world!
Andy
PS - They aren't the dark, evil group the website makes them appear to be. They're actually pretty cool guys.
