Hello everybody
I am a new member on this forum and I have a Question about a Graupner 1300-9M motor.

I am trying to run in my new motor for my bat boat B28.
I Have run it on 3cells for about 5 hours with water cooling attatched and it seems to run OK.But when i run it on 4cells i get small blue sparks on the negative(black wire) carbon brush.
Is this OK?
What happens when i run it on 20 cells? will the motor break down?
Graupner recoment to run it in for 1-4 hours on 3-4Volts .

assuming that while you have been "running" in the brushes. you have set the timing to about -2 degrees right. or at least nutral. This is what I do when breaking in new brushes on mu Ultra 1300-7 , for normal use I run my timing at about +2 degrees. But if you ran it for 5 hours.. that is more than enough.. I only run mine under about 4 cells for 5 minutes. at 20 cells.. make sure you have your timing set right.. I run mine on 18 cells.. it just screems

Hello Tony
Thanks for fast answer.
There is no scale on the motor so i dont know wich way to adjust.
Just a red line . see the attached pictures.
Can you tell me how to adjust during run in?

Best Regards
Abe

you appear to be about the same advance as I have on mine. I think it's about +2 degees. so for break in I'd turn it the other way so that the red mark is about the same spot. but on the other side of the other red line.
