These pictures are of the Carbon fiber/kevlar/ fiberglass SC26 hull. The lay up is a bullet proof in design. First there is an epoxy skin, then a mix of 1/4 chopped Carbon fiber, milled carbon fiber and Visco fill all in epoxy. This mix is spread in to the conners and the all over most of the boat. A 3/4 oz. fiber glass cloth is laid on then. next is the 1 1/4 oz. Kevlar strips on the top, sides and the sides of the bottom. Then Carbon fiber in 5.8 oz is laid on. Then the mold and the lay up is put in the vacuum bag for 2 hours. I pull the hull from the mold in days 7, this is a good cure time. but it still needs to sit and cure two more days before joining.

I just weighed the ABS hull and it weighs 1 pound 10 oz., the compost one weighs 1 pound 7 oz. and will last 10 times as long.
Also,I do not think there is a cat in the US that handles as well.

I understand, they are a lot of work and if every one wanted one I would not have time to race. The ABS SC 26 hull is $75.

I have not liked just fiberglass I should do some cheep polyester? It would be nice for an in-between pricing but I hate the smell.

What I have been working on is a epoxy CF/KEV chopper system this may produce a lower price. In 6 days I will pull the first test boat. then I will see what I have done. That is if it worked.

That should be good to get a mid priced hull. Cause the design is so sweet !!!
By fiber glass I was thinking to the materials used on Bittbuger cats. Mine seems to be made from fiber glass, and some carbon fiber on the second part (from the begin of sponsons) of the hull.
Maybe someone can be more specific about that hull, sorry I don't how to describe the Bittbuger... remenber english is not my mother speaking language !!!

I have see it. It is an gell cote Pollyester resin. If I had cheep labor and sent it to like to a country whare they were paid $5.00 a day it could be done. but I do not want to do that.
