I read Dan's post in the MicroHydro Forum about people getting in the way of drivers, and i got an idea. Is it possible that the area that everybody uses now could be for pits and drivers could go up on the Comunity Center deck and race from up there. I know theres a problem of launching boats unless people want to throw them from up there, maby some newbies or careless people would. Its just an idea.... The meeting spot could also be changed to a less populated part of the park?

That's not a bad idea! we'll have to give it a try, the only problem we will have is when weddings are going on in the clubhouse. Our grand idea is to have a driver stand down on the pond, we have to work things out with the park. That's another reason we will probably have to go for mandatory NAMBA membership for everyone, I'm sure the park will want insurance. The main problem with people watching is the area of walkway that shoots out a bit (rightside). When people are standing there and your to the left of them they block your view of turn 3&4. If they are on the otherside (left) it's fine.

Thanks for the idea!

Dan,

I totally agree, as I let me dad drive my blade runner approx 2-3 weekends ago and a kid stepped right in front of him and blocked his view. My blade runner hit the far side of the pond at about 23-25 mph which, to my horror, then launched it 6' in the air and slammed down to the ground. The Blade Runner has a pin hole in the bottom of the hull and a couple of scratches in it, but other than that its ok. Yes, I know what you are thinking (Jeff really needs to get a new hull anyway:D ), but I am working on that. I am having randy build me a big splash. Anyway to get back to the orig post, yes I think that an unobstructed drivers area would be great.

I was out with Garland the weekend before last, we ran for a bit up on the club house balcony, I think it worked pretty good. The only problem will be when wedding's are going on.

Sounds good, we'll have to give it a try. I just ordered another boat from Randy (fast cat). God, I am so out of control...I LOVE IT :). So this make, 1 ABS fast cat, 1 ABS Big Splash (to learn with), 1 SS hydro (Go fast boat).

Hi there, I have access to flexible free standing posts like those used in construction areas. I believe that they are 42 inches tall, and have a T handle at the top With a weighted base. We could easily set these up and rope off a "drivers only" area when running at Heather Farms. They are avail free of charge for our use, and are easily transported.

I should be attending the next meet at Heather Farms.

Anybody local wanna help me set up my Micro Bullet?---Rob
