I have been putting this kit together recently. I did not receive
the paper transom drill template with my kit. If I eyeball it and
get it as close as possible to the illustrations do you think it will
affect the performance horribly if I am a couple of mm off? Also
the sponson ride pads, are they completely necessary? After
cutting them out from the templates htey don't seem to fit perfectly into the space on the sponsons. If they do need to be on
should they be placed as far forward on the sponson or towards
the rear? I think they must have ran out of manuels or something
and ran off really bad copies because I can hardly make out the
illustrations at all. Thanks for any help at all!

As long as you stay within the recommended power levels that DPI says, you will be OK for eyeballing it.

As I recall, the template was in the manual on the one I did the review for.

I put ridepads on the UL and it made a world of difference. The boat runs free and much faster top end.

I now am putting ride pads on all ABS hulls if possible. I just got done putting them on the 32" Scat Cat. They do make a diffence!

Some manufactures caught on like graupner Tifun and the Tunnel Hull great planes put out. It also gives you nice sharp corners which is why I feel the wood boats do what they do.

I sent DPI an e-mail regarding the instructions they provided me with, apparently they lost all their files that contained the instruction manuels so thay made copies of an old manuel to
include with the kits. They were very apologetic.
I usually don't take the time to voice my dissapointments to manufacturers, this was an extreme case, I hoped that my e-mail to them would help them to improve the product for others in the future. If a beginner got the instructions I received they might
really be turned off to the sport.
Any way I love the boat! I installed the ride pads and rudder
assembly to the best of my ability ( also with alot of help from
looking at pictures of the boat that people posted on the net.
the boat runs great! Thanks to you guys and the internet!
Yeea haa!!
