What is the best brush set and spring combo for a 13 turn Lightning Man motor in a N2 set-up?

Hi I have a 13/3 neo I was told to use high content silver brushes and purple springs. I use serrated face brushes btw and they work great. I find the brushes last an unbelieveably long time compared to ofther o5 motors. I have my neo in a 21 OM offshore with an 6cells x435 it's stupid fast with 7 cells it's scary. I plan on trying 8 cells which is what it's rated at and x438 or x437/3 blade should be interesting.
Have Fun
Erik:)

I have my LM in a rrr muttineer. It's been an impressive motor. I switched from a speed gem 13t. It's a world of difference.

the LM NEO 540 uses 9% silvers and puprle springs you can yuse a polarised springs black (+ve) and red (-ve) brush

try and start with plain faced brushes they provide better comm life than the serateds

on 6 cells X-438 but try an x440 and X637 with the 13 t arm

on 8 cells Y536

Hey Andrew how does the serations affect the com??
Also what about the x437 3 blade prop on a neo or any other 3 blade props. pros ,cons?
I love my neo btw in om offshore I smoked a local guy at the pond who had an el lobo with the same 13/3 speed gem. He kept bragging about how fast his boat was yata yata. I din't tell him i had neo in mine hehe.

serrations cut into the comm - good for fast run in BUT - not for longest comm life

plain face wears evenly and less resistance and more power transmission

Surface drive - 3 blade props are a waste of energy in most situations (keep in mind this is most situations within the typical range of models and performance range we are opreating in )

the mechanical resistance of a prop is the leading edge and tip vortice by adding an extra blade you increase this by 50%

They also use more energey to create more thrust with negligible extra speed - the two balde usually lets the motor rev out and provides more speed

In practice and modelling backs it up it is better to go to slightly larger diameter (1-2 mm up) on same pitch ratio and get a more efficient use of available energy

Just in case you are thinking why do the full size boats use them - to scale they use much smaller diam multi blade props than we do

Search for Beneken props and u will see best shape for submerged - they are very high spect blades - almost liek a plane prop

Good to hear the motor is being enjoyed it is a neat little unit and it still holds the 6 cell oval record after more than 2 years and on 8 cells it is the fastest brushed mono motor at saws
