Miss Canada III build

Posted 04-12-2011 at 07:17 AM by Bigwoodie

A build of the Miss Canada III kit by Osborn Models of Canada. I picked this kit because of the unique bottom design by Van Patten.

Gale v

Well we have done a few thing to the Gale V.
1st off, don't flame the foam, I know it's ugly, but when it grows 5-6 times in volume, it's hard to not to try and stop it. 2nd is the Flood Chambers that I decided to install vs painting them on later. Kinda looks neat and won't cause any problems that I foresee.
All in all, She starting to take shape. Waiting on hardware and motor mounts before decking...

Posted 11-10-2009 at 08:54 PM by cyberhoops

I now have one of the sponsons sheeted in 1/32nd plywood, and also the non-trip chines are on the boat now. The chines are 1/16th plywood.

Getting the pieces to cover the sponsons was a bit tricky and I ended up making paper templates for each piece. That worked pretty well and everything fit together nicely. I like how solid the sponsons feel with the foam under the plywood.

I think I will put a layer of light fiberglass cloth and epoxy over the plywood, and probably...
