Builders Hardware discount
I am getting ready to add something. It works well on the 1/12 and bigger scale stuff. Not sure how it would fit the 1/16 transom without some cutting. Alum. Heavy duty Strut and Bracket with speed bushing, Rudder w/water pickup, turn fin, wire drive and coupler. (THis is a package only) $70 + $8 S&H - two packages...U.S. only for those S&H rates. SV motors for $58 S&H $6 on these. 3/16" Wire drive and coupler package $22 + $6 S&H 3/16 stepped down to 1/8" and coupler $28 + $6 S&H Here is the link to the picture. http://www.rumrunnerracing.com/fefor...5&d=1196686750 Last edited by Jeff Wohlt; 01-23-2008 at 04:15 PM. |

Hi Jeff,
How far back from the transom is the leading edge of the rudder and the trailing edge? I'm building a 1/10th scale Oberto, which I'm getting ready to start documenting on the build site, and I think I'd like to go with wire drive, etc. My club has "scale" rules that require that the trailing edge of the rudder not exceed 1.5" behind the transom (unless it did, scale-wise, on the real boat. Thanks, Jock |

I will measure it but I think it would be right those specs. I have been out of struts but will have more Wed. Also, I would probably run 0.78 wire depending if you are going to run a bigger motors. Otherwise the .062 is good choice for typical power Feigo, SV motor, etc. 12-14 cells
