1/8 Scale Hydro hull & part suppliers

With the current interest in electric 1/8 scale Hydroplanes, I started a list of suppliers, please add to it, I know there are more out there. I had a link for a mfg. that made 1/8 scale detail parts like motors, drivers gauges and stuff, I can't find it anymore, so if anyone can help it would be great!

I personally wouldn't deal with Mr McIntire EVER!

That "gentleman" happily took almost $200 from me and never sent any goods - All I ever got was promises that they would be sent, and now he doesn't even respond to emails.... Legal action is currently being taken to recover my money.

If I lived in the USA I would be paying him a personal visit, but sadly since I live in England it's a rather long trip!

What a great idea Dan - I'm afraid I can't add anything to your list, but it will be interesting to see what other sources people come up with....

Here is some info I found on another board that I am a member of... The question of who has the best kits came up and one person is compiling the results. The boats are a bit heavy for electric but for those who want to buy an already molded hull, this is an option. I added the contact info if I had it.

Thanks, for the info gents! I updated the list at the top of the page. So, anybody know where to get scale drivers?

Andy, I could do a few of the boats that would be easy to scale up. Off the top of my head, the Bud, Llumar, & Notre Dam. With a little more work, Elam & Thriftway.

fastelectrics.com retails a fibreglass 66 low profile shovel suitbale for Ms Bardahl Ms USA etc and 1/8 scale motors

These hulls are very fast and have excellent handling. One of our hulls won the state championship in 1/8th this year.

That's a good looking hull, Andrew! It's priced pretty good compared to the other glass 1/8 hulls I've seen. Can you do them in a lite layup?

Hi,

there`s another manufacturer of 1:8 hulls:
http://www.mhz-engines.com/
He offers the hulls in different weights and fibre versions for electric or nitro.

Something special!

Hi,

just visited a friend who`s about to build a new electric 1/8 scale hydroplane (he is the owner of the Oberto in the clip).
The hull is produced by a small company in Austria and distributed by BL Electronics (Lehner, BK Controllers) in Germany.
It is handmade of finest quality carbonfiber throughout and comes with professional paintjob.
The hull weighs 1950g including cowling and rearwingassembly

Although it is not scale (especially the cockpit) it is by far the best quality i`ve seen so far.

In this case it will be powered by a Lehner 2250/13 and 32 RC 1700 P&M cells and controlled by a Schulze 32.170.
Directdrive of course

Here are some pictures:

Best regards,
matt
