I joined the Capital RC Model Boat Club but am not a spokesman for them. They are all gassers but are willing to accomodate FE's. I just used this thread since it was inactive to attract FE's from the DC Metro area. I'll contact them and ask for their blessing so we can maybe start a Capital R/C site here to try and get people on board. If you can, give me a week or two to contact them. Thanks!

Mike

Nope. IMPBA district 12. I'm getting to ready to join IMPBA and when I do, I'm going to contact the FE director and see what we can to get some FE paritcipation in District 12 races. In the District 12 web page it states " District 12 Supports Gasoline, Nitro Glow Fuel and Fast Electric Boats" yet they have ZERO classes in their district point races. I think we have a little "what came first, the chicken or the egg" syndrome. We dont run FE classes because there is not enough interest and there is not enough interest because there is no place to race.

mike ask them to allow racing heads up in a few classes like ab mono, ab hydro, this does require lipos, running the same laps etc etc, or maybe ask randall thomas to ask on your behalf, we have run with IMPBA district 1 at elmira and these guys seem to be very supportive... at least he can give you good advice..

Thanks Doug. I sent him an email a few months ago but did not get a responce. I figure once I'm a member I will start knocking on doors. The Capital RC guys seemed receptive to and even curious about FE's and invited me out to the pond so I joined them and will join IMPBA. Maybe I can get some of those FEMBOT's and their pink shirts (from the OSE site) to join IMPBA and we can break the FE barrier in District 12. I'm amazed how strong FE participation is in some districts and non existent in others.
