turn fin angle

what is the philosophy of the angle on turn fins with offshore monos? I have seen both angled in (Fastech) and out (SV). I tried angle-out today (see attachments) and it was rockin back and forth (maybe because the pond was flat) and not turning very good. It would make wide full power turns then the steerable outdrive would catch and it would spin out (spun around 3 times once).

How is the best way to get tight turns and stable straights? I made these out of aluminum angle on the band saw and metal file. Any mods that can make them better? I am pretty sure they are straight, if not a tad pigeon toed-I figured that would help on the turns? probably stupid, but gotta try sometimes

thanks
