Starter Boat?

I am looking to get into R/C Boating and was wondering if anyone could give me some pointers on how to go about buying a good entry level boat (Nitro or Electric).

I have been involved with a R/C Cars and trucks for a few years now and I am getting very interested in Boats as well.

Could someone help me out?

Thanks,
Shannon

Shannon, Cats are wonderful hulls. Ihave owned several and they are the easiest to set up and they run corners very well.

For sport running and playing they are hard to beat.

Almost all mine have run the 700 motor. I like these because on 12 cells they are fast but playing on up with 14.

There are some good cats out there at decent prices. BBY has 3 to choose from. Probably for all around speed and fun the 26 is a great choice. I even run the 22 version on 14 cells with a NEO in it...it goes like crazy but not much room for error in driving...but I have rolled it and she stayed floating.

Check out my link on a couple of my cats...nothing special but there run good and are fun.

If you already own a radio then the ESC is the next best investment. RC Hydros is worth the investment...and is still cheaper than many out there yet have been test time and time again in the reacing circle...and set many records.

This board is your one stop source for good help so ask questions and serach the past topics for some great info.

Jeff,

Thanks for the reply. AL E. turned me on to this site (and boating). I am thinking more and more of buying a boat instead of a new R/C Touring Car.

I started with a Key West but I wish I would have bought a fiberglass hull instead. If I could do it all over again I would buy a fiberglass LSH hull like a H&M Viper.
