Eddie,
Graupner bought a lot of Plett motors. You would probably do best testing the motor per The Motor Handbook and using the values to find which motor that way. Or, you could try one of the *calc programs. Perhaps Bill Sellers can point you in the right direction. My copy wasn't mailed until Monday ![]() Andy |

Eddie,
Can you give me a little more info about the nomenclature on the Plett? For instance, is it a 290/40/6 or something like that? The ElectriCalc motor database has over 900 motors and dozens of Pletts, so I need a specific mfg part number. I found the Ultra 900 specs, so I am halfway there. Bill |

Bill, thanks a lot for the help, I would have looked up the numbers if I had them, I bought the motor from Dennis Whitt, (Thanx again Dennis!!! it is a beauty) quote" I also have a ultra 40series it is a long can 6 turn awsome for p offshore Chris Fine ran it at the 2000 Nats in New Jersey In a Key West," unquote I truly believe it is a 290/40/6 turn, it's a biggun! would appreciate any and all help, but I am afraid there's no numbers on the motor
thanx again bill, cheers eddie |

Eddie,
It would be nice if Dennis could jump in here to give us more info. Here's the scoop on the 290/40/6. It is a high torque motor with a Kv of 980 rpm/v, which is quite low. The Ultra 900 has a Kv of 2080 rpm/v, which is a bit on the high side. Many of the motors that are used for 12 cell FE have a Kv in the range of 1200 to 2000 rpm/v. I don't yet know enough about offshore racing to recognize a good 12 cell motor, but I hope this helps. Bill |
