Given that the race season is over and the building season has started - my first project will be a 1/10th scale version of the 1985 Miss 7-Eleven.

I am building it from Roger Newton plans that have been scaled down to 1/10th scale.

For a bit of boat history:
When Dave Heerensperger retired from racing in 1982 he sold the his boats and hardware to Steve Woomer. This boat was the second Pay-n-Pak turbine hull, but was never raced as the Pay-n-Pak. The boat was designed and built by Jim Lucero and for the 1984 season it became the Tosti Asti driven by Steve Reynolds.

Moving forward to 1985, the boat raced as the Miss 7-Eleven with a win in Madison and overall finish of 4th in the national standings. Woomer raced this hull for 7 years under various sponsors including Cellular One in 87, Vantage Ultra in 88, and the Winston Eagle in 89 and 90. Eventually the hull was sold to Ken Muscatel and raced under still more names like Miss DOC, Miss Wicked, Kauai Aloha, Belle Tire and Computers and Applications.

It has to be one of my favorite boats of all time and Steve Reynolds was one of my favorite drivers. Put that together and it is a sweet boat for me to build in 1/10th scale.
